A not-for-profit child advocacy center headquartered in Joplin, Missouri has been providing victim assistance services since May 5, 1997 to sexually abused and/or physically abused children, ages birth through 17, and their families. As a child advocacy center (CAC), ChildrenÕs Center provides many benefits, both to victims and families as well as the community as a whole. For victims and their families the benefits of a CAC are readily apparent: consistent and prompt follow-up to abuse reports; crisis intervention; consistent and compassionate support for the child and family; referrals to professionals with expertise in specialized fields; dramatically fewer victim interviews; and increased successful prosecutions.
Children’s Haven provides emergency shelter to children ages 0-17 whose families are experiencing a crisis. A family crisis may include but is not limited to homelessness, parent or sibling hospitalization, fear of child abuse or neglect, lack of food or utilities, parents seeking mental health or substance abuse treatment, or incarceration of a parent.

Lafayette House provides services for victims of domestic violence or sexual assault, and treatment for those with substance use disorders. Our services include shelter, inpatient and outpatient services, and a variety of support services including counseling and case management. We have a licensed child care center on site.
Free legal assistance.
Provides comprehensive recovery supported and intensive outpatient services for substance use disorders, gambling disorders and various co-occurring disorders. Staff includes certified peer support specialists MRSS-P, MSW/LCSW, certified substance abuse counselors, CRADC & MAADCII, certified gambling disorders counselor, GED/HiSet instructor, and a doctor that works with clients for physical and mental health needs.
