The school was also designated an “Area” Vocational School by the State Department of Education in 1978. The name was changed to “Carthage Technical Center” in February, 1995. The Carthage Technical Center South Branch was opened in 2010 directly behind the high school. This state-of-the-art facility houses the agriculture, machining, computer information technology and digital electronics programs.
