What used to take days in screening can be reduced to mere minutes. Virtual video interviews through the Business Solutions Center can revolutionize the job interview process to save time and money in employee screening. Combined with application processing and the National Career Readiness Certificate, the virtual video interviews can help you get the right candidate a lot sooner. Review five or more virtual interviews in the time it typically takes for one traditional interview.
The Business Solutions Center provides InterviewStream to employers directly or through the local job centers. InterviewStream makes pre-screening candidates easier, no matter where they are, what position it’s for, or what type of computer or browser they’re on.
Using a webcam, candidates record responses to tailored, pre-recorded question sets or connect with you on a live video-conference interview. InterviewStream can work independently or alongside other HR systems. This helps reduce travel costs and eliminates lengthy phone screens while getting a better pool of quality candidates.
Interviews can be selected from industry specific lists or instantly customized. Over 3000+ questions are broken out by behavioral or industry categories that can be used to create custom interviews for your candidates to respond.
After reviewing resumés, you can instantly invite qualified candidates to conduct interviews. Using a webcam, candidates record responses to tailored, pre-recorded question sets. In addition to the questions that are asked, you can control the response length and the number of retries each candidate has during the interview process.
Interviews are accessible online from any internet connected computer. Simply click on each question to view that response. You can also view previous interviews completed, assess and rate performance, create a favorites list, and share qualified candidates.
Candidate interviews can only be accessed by your administrators. All interviews are housed on secure servers and can be viewed from any computer without downloading anything. Administrators can choose to share secure interview links via email with other hiring managers or clients and can determine how long the interview is accessible.
InterviewStream published a national case study on the success of virtual video interviewing in Southwest Missouri. The case study profiled the HR customer satisfaction at Bemis Company, Inc. in Joplin. Suzanne Baucom, HR Manager at Bemis’ Joplin, MO facility at the time InterviewStream published the case study, said that each candidate needs to have the right combination of mechanical, electrical, and printing skills to be considered for employment. Bemis developed their own comprehensive interview process, which includes InterviewStream, to help determine if a candidate is, in fact, a good fit with the company’s culture. On a recent round of interviews, InterviewStream allowed Baucom and her 4 member interview panel to save over 100 hours and approximately $3,500 by creating a shortlist of 9 candidates down from 36.
“It helps us pre-screen candidates,” Baucom said. “Each candidate is scored on each step of the interviewing process, from their resume to the final behavioral interview, with the video interview being a vital part of the process. We had to find something that pulled out the quality of the candidate but was still fair,” she said. Baucom feels that InterviewStream has been a huge asset to Bemis’ interviewing procedures for a number of reasons, with the cost savings it provides and flexibility at the top of the list. She also likes the customizable questions. “You can really sit down and review the questions and answers,” she said. “Sometimes during an in-person interview, even though you’re taking notes, you might miss a key point. With InterviewStream, you can go back and review their answers. It gives you a much better idea of the candidates fit here at Bemis.”
