How it Works
To earn an NCRC certificate, the WorkKeys® Assessment is used to identify your skill levels in three specific areas: Applied Math, Locating Information, and Reading for Information. These are the “real world” skills on local employers’ most wanted list. NCRC is helpful for new hires and for promotions to higher-paying jobs alike. Test questions are based on challenges in the everyday work world. Applicants unable to score high enough to earn an NCRC on the first attempt can work to improve their scores with
KeyTrain®. Access to internet-based remedial software is available online to your computer by registering through the job centers at Joplin and Monett.
There are four achievement levels for the NCRC: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. They are issued based on the scores of the three assessments mentioned above, which are recorded and used to match your talents to local jobs. Local job centers in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas offer testing routinely. Visit joplinjobcenter.org for the latest schedule of local tests available. Education partners such as colleges, tech schools, and high schools also offer tests throughout the region. For more information, call (417) 625-3614.
