ACT released a nationwide case study showcasing the success of Able Manufacturing and the local workforce system to transform local hiring processes and improve the region’s workforce. The six-page study profiles the solutions of the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) and WorkKeys job analysis packaged effectively with other value-added services from the partnerships within Workforce Investment Board (WIB) of Southwest Missouri.
The case study outlines the impressive results for Able Manufacturing. Costly turnover is down. Commitment of workers is higher. Efficiency is stronger with applicant screening. Documentation of workforce skills even got easier for ISO 9001 certification. The case study also highlights Able’s role in helping Jasper County become an ACT Certified Work Ready Community.
The report digs deeper into the unique challenge of firms like Able that draw workers in from portions of three different states and the need for standardized screening through the three unique workforce systems. ACT documented the best practices of Able Manufacturing and the WIB and provided implementation steps other firms might helpful. The case study includes comments for Able’s HR director, Susan Adams, along with Jasen Jones and Troy Roland from the WIB.
